Keeping our plastics in the loop
Share
Plastic is a valuable material. It’s vital to the safe and efficient distribution of our products, and it has a lower carbon footprint than many alternative materials. So plastic has its place.
But that place is not our streets, rivers and oceans.
It’s part of a circular economy, where it’s reusable, recyclable or biodegradable and always in a loop, stopping it from entering the natural environment.
If even one of our bottles ends up in the environment, it shouldn’t. It’s our responsibility to stop our plastic from entering the environment.
When it comes to new plastics, we will fulfill this commitment in two ways. Firstly, avoid over 100000 tons of plastic packaging by accelerating multi-purpose packaging (such as reusable and repackaged packaging) and "zero plastic" solutions (including alternative packaging materials and "no decoration" products). Secondly, increase the use of recycled plastics in packaging.
The most important step to completely avoid plastic waste is to prevent it from entering the environment. Therefore, we also promise to collect and dispose of plastic packaging that exceeds what we sell. We can achieve this goal in three ways: investing in many countries where we operate, and collaborating with relevant departments and institutions to improve waste management infrastructure; Purchase and use recycled plastic in our packaging; We will bear the corresponding collection costs for participating in the expansion of the producer responsibility program.
